Thousands welcomed Catriona Gray in a grand homecoming parade held at the Araneta Center in Quezon City.  She went to Bangkok Thailand as Miss Philippines and returned home as Miss Universe 2018. She is the fourth Filipina to bring home the coveted title.  Gloria Diaz was the first Filipina to win Miss Universe. She won in 1969.  Margarita Moran took home the crown in 1973.

Catriona Gray is an Australian-born model who moved to the Philippines as a teenager. Her father is a Scotish national working in Australia. Her mother is Filipina.  She is a spokesperson for Young Focus, an NGO that gives underpriviledged children and young people a chance to develop themselves intellectually, emotionally, psychologically, and spiritually by means of education and personal coaching.

Miss Universe is an annual international beauty pageant that started in 1952.  Miss Universe Organization is based in the United States.  The annual Miss Universe pageant is broadcasted live to more than 600 million viewers across the globe.  Catriona Gray is the fourth Filipina to win the title.
